The Crux Marblehead Maduro Gordo is the larger of the two Marblehead Maduro vitolas, built on a Mexican San Andres wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and filler at Tabacalera Pages de Nicaragua S.A. It carries the line's signature 109-style Marblehead cap and the same value-driven, regular-production approach that made the original Marblehead a shop favorite. At 6 x 60, it is a long, generous medium-to-full smoke.
Dark chocolate and espresso set the tone, with powdery cocoa nibs and oak building underneath. Charred meatiness and gritty earth give the blend real presence, while maple sweetness keeps everything in balance. Light pepper runs through, sharpening on the retrohale, and the finish stays smooth and creamy.
The Gordo is for smokers who want the biggest ring gauge and the longest sit, and it holds its flavor all the way down. Give it a slow evening with a stout or a neat bourbon. Sold in 20-count bundles at an everyday price, this is an easy one to stock deep.
