The Principle Cigars Aviator Series Cochon Volant is a compact, full-flavored Short Gordo built around the nuanced Aviator blend. Its 4.25 x 58 format combines an Ecuadorian Corojo wrapper with a Dominican Monte Plata binder and a layered blend of Dominican, Nicaraguan, and Peruvian fillers. The result is a medium-bodied cigar with a generous volume of smoke, a rich texture, and enough complexity to reward a slow, attentive pace.
Cochon Volant opens with cream, vanilla, roasted pecans, and cedar, followed by caramel sweetness and a warm baking-spice note. As the cigar develops, plum, oak, leather, coffee, and a restrained peppery edge add depth to the profile. The broad ring gauge gives the smoke a rounded, almost plush texture while the Corojo wrapper keeps the flavors lively and aromatic.
Though compact in length, the Cochon Volant is not a quick or simple smoke. It is an expressive, well-balanced choice for anyone who enjoys richer flavors delivered with polish rather than brute force.
