The Powstanie Connecticut Corona Gorda "Justice" takes the brand's Ecuadorian Connecticut shade wrapper and pairs it with something unexpected underneath: a Pennsylvania Broadleaf binder over aged Nicaraguan filler. That combination gives a Connecticut-wrapped cigar noticeably more grip and body than the category usually delivers. Rolled at Fábrica de Tabacos Nica Sueño in Estelí and sized at a trim 5 1/2 x 46, it burns cool and keeps its flavors tightly focused.
Orange-honey sweetness and cream open things up, set against oak and a clean natural tobacco base. Black pepper builds gradually with a red pepper kick on the retrohale, while roasted walnut, caramel, hay and a cooling touch of wintergreen fill in the middle and finish.
Justice joined the Connecticut line in 2024 and is named for the middle child of co-owner Mike Szczepankiewicz, echoing the 100-cigar ApolloDani Corona Gorda made in 2015 to mark that child's birth. It is a natural morning or early-afternoon cigar — coffee, iced tea, or a light bourbon all work well. Launched at PCA 2024 in 21-count boxes, it is regular production, so you can keep it in steady rotation.
