If you’ve spent any time hanging out at Creekside Cigar Co., you know we have a soft spot for anything coming out of Crowned Heads.
So when we saw the news that Blood Medicine B Positive is getting three new sizes in 2026, it definitely caught our attention.
Last year we had the chance to collaborate with Crowned Heads on Blood Medicine: Bear Run, a limited-edition cigar that meant a lot to our community. Because of that, the Blood Medicine project will always feel a little special around here.
So let’s talk about what’s new.
A Quick History of Blood Medicine
The Blood Medicine line has always been a little different from your typical cigar release.
Instead of launching as a traditional retail product, it started as something much more personal — a cigar only available at special events.
Here’s how the project has evolved over the years:
-
2015: Blood Medicine first appears as an event-only robusto.
-
2024: It gets its first commercial release, available in a single toro size.
-
2025: The original blend expands into three sizes.
-
2025: Crowned Heads releases Blood Medicine B Positive, a darker, more intense version of the blend.
-
2026: B Positive is now expanding into three new sizes.
In other words, what started as a niche event cigar has turned into one of the most interesting limited projects in the Crowned Heads lineup.
What Is Blood Medicine B Positive?
Think of B Positive as the slightly darker, heavier version of the original Blood Medicine.
According to Jon Huber, the idea behind B Positive was simple — take the blend and push it further.
“B-Positive was born from experimentation to push the Blood Medicine blend into new territory—darker, meatier, more intense.”
The response to the original release was strong enough that Crowned Heads decided to bring it back — and this time in multiple sizes.
The Blend Behind B Positive
Even though the sizes are changing for 2026, the blend itself stays the same.
Wrapper: Nicaraguan Corojo
Binder: Ecuador Connecticut
Filler: Nicaraguan tobaccos
Compared to the original Blood Medicine (which uses an Ecuador Habano wrapper), B Positive leans a little richer and fuller.
It’s the kind of cigar that pairs really well with a good drink and a long conversation in the lounge.
The New Sizes for 2026
This year, Crowned Heads is adding three new vitolas, each named after its dimensions:
-
5 x 52 – $11.50
-
5 ½ x 56 – $12.50
-
6 x 54 – $13.50
Each size will come in 21-count boxes, with production limited to 800 boxes per size.
So while the cigar is expanding, it’s still very much a limited run.
Produced in Estelí, Nicaragua
Like several other Crowned Heads cigars — including Juárez and Míl Dias — Blood Medicine B Positive is produced in Estelí, Nicaragua at the TacaNicsa factory (formerly known as D’Hatuey).
Estelí is one of the true heartbeats of the cigar world, and a lot of the cigars we love come out of that region.
Why We’re Excited About It
Any time Crowned Heads adds to the Blood Medicine story, we’re paying attention.
Part of that is because the project has always felt a little different — it’s grown naturally over time based on how smokers have responded to it.
And part of it is personal.
Getting the opportunity to release Blood Medicine: Bear Run with Crowned Heads last year was a huge moment for our lounge and community. So seeing new chapters added to the Blood Medicine lineup is something we’re always excited about.
Pre-Orders Are Open Now
If you’re excited about the new Blood Medicine B Positive sizes, the good news is you don’t have to wait until they hit shelves.
You can pre-order them right now on the Creekside Cigar Co. website, so when they land you’ll already have yours locked in.
Like most Blood Medicine releases, production is limited — 800 boxes per size — so if this is a cigar you’ve been waiting to try, grabbing one early isn’t a bad move.
And if you’d rather talk about it in person, swing by the lounge and we’ll happily nerd out about the blend with you.
Smoke in good company. 💨
