Ohhhhhh man, it's here, finally. Sorry about the wait on this one, it's been a whirlwind. PCA, Miami, the 2 year Anniversary, it's taken too long to put this sampler together; but it has finally landed.
The "Tuesday Morning Smokes" idea came from the fact that I get into the shop pretty early on Tuesdays, and I always found myself smoking a cigar I loved. I thought it would be a fun idea to have you guys smoke along with me every five weeks. It's fun for me to think someone out there, somewhere, is smoking along with me every Tuesday morning when I come in. I seriously want to hear your guy's thoughts on these cigars every time a sampler drops. comment on YouTube, DM me on instagram, I want to know if you love it, or if you chuck it in your own creek.
This Volume in specific is a funny one, it wasn't meant to be limited, but it sort of is. There are cigars in here that aren't inherently limited, but end up being pretty difficult to get. Don Reynaldo is one of those cigars that when you see it, it's worth buying as many as you can, we went a whole year between restocks. We don't have a whole lot of these samplers unfortunately, so if they're still in stock when you're reading this, it would be worth picking one up here if you can.
The first cigar I smoked in the series was the Gellis Family Absolutos Corona Gorda. peep that first video here. Ive only ever bought 3 boxes of cigars in my life, Warped El Oso Maduro and Connecticut, and the third being Absolutos Corona Gorda. This was love at first puff for me. It's a Nica Sungrown puro, because of that, I thought it was going to be an intense spice bomb; it wasn't. It was completely opposite of what I was expecting it to be. The whole flavor profile revolves around this sort of plum/stone fruit and sweet dry wood combination. baking spices dance in and out, along with a vanilla bean and slight white pepper spice. It's very dynamic and exciting to smoke. Medium body all day, daily driver breast pocket cigar energy. Check it out as an individual stick here.
Second was the Valacari Lumineer Toro. Funny enough, before that video, I had only ever smoked it in Robusto. This Video was literally my initial impressions of that blend in a Toro. To my surprise, it was very similar. The first time I ever smoked the Lumineer, it was given to me by one of my homies and regular/member of the shop, Mike Glawitsch. He's been on the pod a couple times and is overall just an awesome dude. When he first gave it to me, it was shocking how much it tasted like a vanilla milkshake. For real. This cigar is creamy, sweet, VERY vanilla bean forward, and overall just a desert like cigar. No spice, No jagged edges, just round, balanced, sweet creaminess the whole way through. I was worried the toro would be different, and it wasn't. Like at all actually. No real transitions, but I'm okay with that. I don't need transitions in a cigar for it to be exciting to smoke. Rip it in the morning, or at night after dinner. To me, it's phenomenal and versatile no matter when it's lit up. Go snag individual sticks here.
Third in the lineup was the EGM Petit Encantos. This one was all Dave. Go check out his thoughts on the cigar here. I personally have only smoked this cigar once, so I don't want to give too many thoughts on it. What I will say, is it is one of the most unique cigars in EGM's lineup. It's the sweetest, fullest body cigar in their core lineup imo. I will say, Ettore (the owner of EGM) is one of the kindest, down to earth people I've met in this industry. Dave already dove into the brand and history in his Video in this series, but it's an awesome story. Go snag a single here.
I got so much flack for calling the Warped Don Reynaldo a "Daily Smoker". The price point absolutely keeps it from being a literal daily smoker, but that flavor profile is such a daily driver it's not even funny. Go check out that vid here. Man I've been on an El Titan kick recently. That place is seriously my favorite factory. The way they do things is from a "no corners cut, ever." kind of mentality. The way they source their tobacco, the method their rollers use to roll, all comes together to be a truly impressive experience. Their cigars are rolled "entubar". A very traditional and quality way to construct a cigar. It's definitely a dying art when it comes to how most cigars are rolled in today's day and age. Don Reynaldo is rolled at a maximum quantity of 100 cigars per day, to keep quality control insanely high. The Dominican wrapper offers a super unique experience. The whole cigar is centered around a very cubanesque citrusy, woody, baking spice profile. A jammy raspberry along with a lavender floral note dance in and out, it all comes together to create a super dynamic and fun profile to smoke. Consistency and construction have been incredibly high, and the experience is everything you'd expect out of a cigar blended by Kyle Gellis, and rolled at El Titan. Go snag singles or however many you want while we got em here.
Talk about being on an El Titan Kick, the El Titan De Bronze Redemption Corona blew my mind. I was absolutely floored at how sweet that cigar is. You can literally hear me say here that it tastes like a Cinnabon. That Cigar was so cinnamon forward it was ridiculous. Construction was meh, but that was the only time I've ever smoked it, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. That video was more of a first impressions than anything. I Loved the flavor profile and really want to smoke more soon. Go snag some here.
I really look forward to hearing your guys' thoughts and reactions to the first edition of Tuesday morning smokes. I hope you enjoy these cigars as much as I did.
Smoke in good company
Peace,
CP.
