Crowned Heads La Imperiosa Corona Gorda is a rich, full-flavored Nicaraguan cigar made at My Father Cigars S.A. in Estelí. Its 5.75 x 46 Corona Gorda format features a dark Habano Oscuro wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and fillers—the same core recipe first used for Crowned Heads’ Las Calaveras Edición Limitada 2014. The slim Corona Gorda shape concentrates the blend’s spice, dark sweetness, and earthy depth.
La Imperiosa opens with red pepper, charred wood, earth, and dark fruit, followed by cocoa, espresso, leather, cedar, and a subtle creamy sweetness. The initial spice settles as the cigar develops, allowing richer notes of roasted coffee, dark chocolate, wood, and leather to take the lead. The oscuro wrapper gives the smoke a dense, velvety texture, while the Nicaraguan core keeps the finish structured and lively.
This is an ideal choice for smokers who enjoy muscular, darker-profile cigars with balance and progression. The Corona Gorda delivers a satisfying full-bodied experience without sacrificing refinement, making it a natural fit for a slow evening smoke with espresso, stout, or a barrel-aged spirit.
