The Crowned Heads Tennessee Waltz OG is the original — a 5 1/2 x 52 robusto extra wearing a maduro-shade U.S.A. Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and filler, rolled at My Father Cigars S.A. in Estelí. It was the first Crowned Heads blend to use Broadleaf, and the pairing of that sweet, oily leaf with Nicaraguan guts produces a rich, medium-to-full smoke with real presence. The OG designation marks this original size, the one that started it all.
Caramel and deep molasses sweetness lead, wrapped in leather and charred oak. Dark chocolate, cocoa and roasted coffee build through the middle, dried fruit notes of raisin and date add a plush edge, and cracked black pepper cuts across a creamy, woody, gently spicy core.
Tennessee Waltz debuted on September 23, 2014 as a Tennessee-only regional exclusive, named for the song playing when founder Jon Huber's maternal grandparents met, and it spent years as a closely guarded local secret before going national. That history alone earns it a place in the humidor. Pour a Tennessee whiskey, put on something with a steel guitar, and give this one an evening. Highly recommended for Broadleaf lovers.
