Description

The Casa Cuevas Cigar Sampler is a tour through one of the Dominican Republic's real family operations. The Cuevas family traces its tobacco roots to Pinar del Rio, Cuba, and today runs Tabacalera Las Lavas in Santiago, where it has produced cigars for names like Gurkha and Carlos Torano. Luis Cuevas Sr., Luis Jr. and Alec launched their self-titled brand in 2017, and this sampler is for the smoker who wants to see what a family does when it blends for itself.

Casa Cuevas cigars are handmade in the Dominican Republic with Nicaraguan binder and filler. A Casa Cuevas sampler typically favors the core wrappers of the line: Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade, Ecuadorian Habano and Mexican San Andres maduro, with Honduran Corojo and Cameroon further up the range. Expect anything from creamy, nutty and cedar-driven mild smokes to a spicy, leathery medium Habano and a maduro full of sweetness, pepper and charred oak.

It is an ideal gift and an even better way to find your place in a lineup that runs from mild to full. Take one home, compare them side by side, and let the family's work make its own case.
