Dapper Cigar Co. set out to make the strongest, most flavorful cigar they had ever made. The hard part was doing it without under-fermented tobacco, which few makers manage. Raul Disla and Ian Reith spent years building the Siempre Rosado blend. Month after month, they pushed themselves to work with tobaccos and primings they normally wouldn't use.
To get the strength right, they chose an Ecuadorian Habano Rosado wrapper from the eighth priming. The leaf starts out a soft pinkish color. After two years of careful fermentation, it turns dark, and the rosado tint only shows when you hold it up to sunlight.
With a wrapper this heavy, the binder and filler matter even more. Dapper paired it with a heavy Nicaraguan Habano binder and new U.S. and Nicaraguan fillers. The result is a cigar they believe is unlike anything else in the Dapper lineup.
