La Flor Dominicana, often called LFD, was founded by Litto Gomez, a former jeweler turned cigar maker, together with Ines Lorenzo. In 1999 LFD set out to make a cigar entirely from tobacco grown on its own farm, including the wrapper, and the brand is now known for bold, powerful Dominican cigars.
