Description

Wrapper: Ecuadorian Habano
Binder: Nicaraguan
Filler: Nicaraguan
Origin: Nicaragua
Size: 5 1/2" x 42 Corona

The Crux Guild Corona takes the Guild's Ecuadorian Habano wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and filler and packs it into the line's smallest regular-production vitola, a 5 1/2 x 42 corona rolled at Plasencia Cigars S.A. in Esteli. Cigar Coop called it the connoisseur size of the Guild blend and scored it a 90, rating it medium to medium-plus. The narrow ring gauge sharpens every note the larger sizes spread out.

Chocolate arrives early and turns almost custard-like in its creaminess, set against cedar and earth. White and black pepper light up the retrohale, raisin sweetness and coffee fill the middle, and oak takes over late. Leather and salty butter with a pancake-syrup sweetness round out the finish.

This is the cigar for smokers who understand that thinner ring gauges often taste better, and for anyone with less than an hour to spare. It pairs neatly with morning coffee or an afternoon beer. Boxes of 20 are made up of four five-packs, making it easy to grab a five-pack and see for yourself.
