Description
Wrapper: Mexican San Andres
Binder: Ecuadorian Habano
Filler: Nicaraguan and Dominican
Origin: Nicaragua
Size: 5 5/8" x 46 Corona Gorda
The Powstanie San Andrés Corona Gorda wraps a dark, oily Mexican San Andrés maduro leaf around an Ecuadorian Habano binder and a filler blend of Nicaraguan and Dominican tobacco. It is rolled at Fábrica de Tabacos Nica Sueño in Estelí, the same house behind the rest of Mike Szczepankiewicz's lineup, and it lands squarely in medium-to-full territory. The slim 5 5/8 x 46 Corona Gorda format concentrates all of that flavor into a shape that burns cool and reads elegant in the hand.
Dark chocolate leads, backed by earth and espresso and lifted by delicate spices that arrive without ever turning sharp. The body is rich and well-rounded, built on a robust, flavorful tobacco core that stays composed from the first third to the band.
This is an after-dinner cigar in the classic sense — pour a bourbon or a strong black coffee and let it stretch out. San Andrés is the fourth core line from Powstanie, and the Corona Gorda arrived later in 2025 as a limited run of roughly 400 boxes, so this is not one that will sit around. If you like dark maduro flavor in a refined corona, grab a few while they last.
