Creekside Cigar Co. has announced Queen of the West Bel D'oro, the company's first full cigar release. Bel D'oro is the first of three planned core lines under the Queen of the West brand.
Bel D'oro is the Connecticut expression of Queen of the West. The name translates to "beautiful gold," chosen for the Ecuadorian Connecticut Desflorada wrapper the entire blend was built around. Desflorada refers to tobacco grown from plants whose flowers are removed early, concentrating the leaf's oils and flavor. Blended by Creekside owner and cofounder Dave Imber and produced at Tabacalera La Isla in the Dominican Republic, the cigar pairs that wrapper with a Connecticut Broadleaf binder and fillers from Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic, and the United States. The blend is medium-plus in strength.
It debuts in a single vitola:

Queen of the West Bel D'oro is a regular production offering. It will be available at partner retailers as early as August 17, followed by Creekside's own lounge and online store on August 21. Creekside Lounge members and Patreon subscribers will receive first access.
"This cigar is the evolution of Creekside," said Imber. "We built a blend that brings real excitement, both in flavor and in the experience around it. But more than anything, this one is for our people. The ones who have supported our dream from the beginning."
The Queen of the West name comes from Cincinnati's historic nickname, an ode to Creekside's city and home, famously immortalized by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow in the mid-1800s.
Creekside will host a launch event at its Maineville lounge on August 21 with Tabacalera La Isla owner Hostos Fernandez in attendance. A second launch event follows at The Vault in Scottsboro, Ala. on September 5.
