Crowned Heads Belgian Blue LE 2026: Now at the Creek

Belgian Blue is back for its third year, and this time it comes in a new, more compact size at a lower price. The Crowned Heads Belgian Blue LE 2026 is officially on our shelves, and we've been waiting for this one.
MAINEVILLE, OH: Creekside Cigar Co. now carries the Crowned Heads Belgian Blue LE 2026, the newest edition of Crowned Heads' 75 percent ligero limited release. It's available now in a brand-new 5 1/4 x 54 box-pressed robusto extra, as a single, a 5-pack or a box of 12, in the lounge and online at creeksidecigarco.com.
Belgian Blue has sold out fast two years running, and with only 2,500 boxes made worldwide, this one won't sit on shelves long. If you've been chasing the 2024 or 2025 editions, grab yours before this run sells out.
What is Crowned Heads Belgian Blue?
Belgian Blue takes its name from the Belgian Blue cattle breed, known for its strength and famously muscular build. Crowned Heads introduced it in 2024 as a 6 x 54 box-pressed toro limited to 2,000 boxes. It came back in 2025 as a 5 1/2 x 56, with production bumped to 2,500 boxes after fans asked Crowned Heads to bring it back.
What makes the blend unusual is its recipe: 75 percent of the tobacco comes from ligero, the thick, oily leaves at the top of the plant that bring the most strength and flavor. Even so, Crowned Heads co-founder Jon Huber is clear about what this cigar is for:
"Belgian Blue was never about chasing strength for strength's sake. The cigar was blended for flavor and intensity first, and the power was a by-product. The annual demand over the last couple of years has been relentless, and we are proud and excited to bring it back once again."
What's new for Belgian Blue LE 2026?
The blend is the same. The format is what changes:
- A new size: a 5 1/4 x 54 box-pressed robusto extra, the most compact Belgian Blue yet.
- A lower price: MSRP is $12.50 per cigar, down from $13.50 for the 2025 edition.
- The same small run: 2,500 boxes of 12, or 30,000 cigars worldwide.
The blend
- Wrapper: Mexican San Andrés
- Binder: Ecuadorian
- Filler: Dominican & Nicaraguan (75% ligero)
- Origin: Estelí, Nicaragua
- Factory: D'Hatuey Tabacos S.A.
- Size: Robusto Extra, Box-Pressed (5.25 x 54)
- Strength: Full
What does Belgian Blue taste like?
Expect a full-bodied, spice-forward smoke. Crowned Heads describes layers of pepper, leather, oak and molasses, and the retrohale carries plenty of spice. Despite all that ligero, the blend stays balanced and refined rather than harsh. The shorter robusto extra delivers all of it in less time, which makes it a great after-dinner cigar. Pair it with a high-proof bourbon, a peaty Scotch or a dark espresso.
Who should grab a Belgian Blue?
- Love full-bodied cigars? With a 75 percent ligero blend, this one was built for you.
- Missed the 2024 or 2025 editions? Same blend, new size. This is the one to catch.
- New to strong cigars? Smoke it slowly, after a meal, with a drink on the side.
